Who Is This Person???

It's me-Aimee Jo...someone full of energy who makes tons of "to do" lists and loves crossing things off throughout the day!! Someone who enjoys going for walks and organizing/cleaning my house.

Well, I am still Aimee Jo, but that part about being full of energy, actually crossing things off the list, and going for walks has just flown out the window the past few weeks.

Instead, this is what I've become...someone who lives in the most comfortable recliner, taking catnaps each day, watching so much TV that I've got commercials memorized.

Who is this person I've become?? I seriously have only enough energy to take a shower, but actually get ready for the day--NO WAY! And if it is not a shower, then maybe I can unload the dishwasher, but then it's back to the recliner again!
I feel drained of energy and nausea on top of that, which is not a good combo. But, my lovely husband reminds me that it is GREAT that I feel this way because it surely means only one thing---I am pregnant!!

I am 9 weeks today and feel very grateful that the Lord has created a little human inside of me, even though the sweet, little one-inch babe makes me feel so SICK!

So, until these feelings of fatigue and nausea subside, I will enjoy my time in the great big, brown chair and will do what I can to get through each day. And if you are ever in the neighborhood, please stop by--you know where to find me!! I'd love to share my favorite commercials with you!!

YAY nausea!! Growing a baby is hard work. It's just weird because we can't actually see any of the work happening. The exhaustion is absolutely amazing and profound. So you just lay back and take it easy, Aimee; reserve that energy for...the next couple of decades of parenthood!

From Fit Pregnancy mag list of best cities to have a baby:
1} Portland, Ore.
What makes it great: Portland moms boast an exceptionally high breastfeeding success rate—an estimated 27 percent of them are still nursing six months after giving birth, more than any other city in our survey. And the place is teeming with OB-GYNs, offering pregnant women plenty of opportunity to select a doc whose approach they’re comfortable with. Looking for an alternative birth? There’s a doula on almost every corner (Portland has more doulas per 1,000 live births than any city we surveyed, except for Minneapolis). Maternal mortality is very low, and very few babies are born with low birth weight. And when it’s time for day care, Portland parents can take comfort in knowing that state laws require thorough background checks for caregivers.

I am really looking forward to meeting your little one!! Like Cheryl said, relax WITHOUT guilt- because after they are born you won't be doing much of it, and atleast you will have great memories of doing it once upon a time :)
Love you!

definalty take the time now to rest. Because once that little one comes.. well, I won't go there!! I am again so excited for you guys. I am also glad that God decided to let you guys stick around Portland for a little while longer. I have heard that in the second trimester the sickness goes away, so you can look forward to that. And make Andrew do thins for you !!

Aimee, I'm sorry you're not feeling hot. Seriously get all that you can out of not feeling well right now! There are few moments in life when people are so ready and willing to do ANYTHING to make you happy or feel better: when you are the bride and when you're having a baby...so ask away Aimee! You deserve it!

Hey Aimee,
Furlough has been good- I have laughed, fellowshiped and ate with many good friends and dear family members! It's been memorable. And yes I do get to meet my nephew before we leave. We actually are planning on going back to Uganda after the baby is born- and hopefully that will be soon, my sister is already dialated to 2c. Her due date isn't until the 19th, but I predict that she'll give birth on the 6th :) She has invited me to be in the delivery room to help- I am so blessed by this. I am excited to help in this God-given miracle.
Hope you are getting lots of rest! Hopefully the sickness will pass soon.
Love you!
