I get to see beautiful children everyday...I am a teacher.
I get to see the lightbulb flash on and hear the words, "I have a connection!"...I am a teacher.
I get at least 5 hugs a day from little bodies wrapped around my legs...I am a teacher.
I get to hear the words, "Mrs. Martin, you look beautiful today."...I am a teacher.
I get to read stories to 50 open eyes and ears, just waiting to find out what happens on the next page...I am a teacher.
I get to hear my name spoken 50 times a day...I am a teacher.
I get to work on report cards for days and days and days... I am a teacher.
I get to plan weeks in advance and stress and be intentional about my teaching points...I am a teacher.
I get to watch a commercial, hear an idea from a friend, or read an idea in a book and think, "How could I implement this in my classroom?"...I am a teacher.
I get to cry when I don't know how to make something anymore clear, to help the children understand a concept...I am a teacher.
I get to share my experiences with other teachers who truly understand how funny (and quite ironic) it is to be sharing in a great lesson with all of my students engaged and listening, and focused and then with one raise of a hand, we all hear, "Um, teacher, is it time for recess?"...I am a teacher
Thank you, Lord, for blessing me with a job that I love. Sometimes it's overwhelming to think of all that I am expected to teach my kids...but I am a teacher; I am equipped, and I receive so many blessings that keep me coming back everyday!
